Resting on the peak of a dormant volcano, Mt Wilson is known for its lush rainforests, captivating gardens and village hospitality.
The home of some of the fabulous gardens from The Great Gatsby, you won’t find any shops or even cafes in Mt Wilson, but don’t let that stop you visiting one of the most beautiful places in all of New South Wales.

Cady studying bushland at The Cathedral of Ferns at Mt Wilson.
Author Cadance Bell spent five weeks in Mt Wilson, going on bush walks and studying the landscape.
While the expedition was less than two months after the death of her father, she described the experience as life-altering, and felt seen and held by the gorgeous community of Mt Wilson.
Cady was invited to be Mt Wilson’s Artist in Resident for November 2021. The AIR program offers cottage accommodation and access to The Old School House, converted into an artist’s studio.
